2009/2010 Basketball Season

Frequently asked questions:

What are the registration fees? Regular season fees are $75.

Do you charge spectators to attend the games? Yes, for all regular-season and tournament games, spectators will be charged a $1 door fee to defray the costs of running the season, including gym heating, lighting, and officials fees. All 12th grade students and under are exempted from the door fee.

What ages are able to play? Ages 5-16 - determined by age on September 1st, 2009. Note that players must be at least 5 years old by September 1st to register.

Are uniforms provided? Yes, NJAA will provide t-shirts to each player that they can keep at the end of the season.

When are draft evaluations? November 21st at Little River Community Center at the following times:

9:00 - 5-6 boys and girls
10:00 - 7-8 boys
10:30 - 7-8 and 9-10 girls
11:30 - 9-10 boys
12:30 - 11-12 girls
1:00 - 11-12 boys
1:30 - 13-14 and 15-16 girls
2:00 - 13-14 boys
2:30 - 15-16 boys

What are the practice and game schedules? Official schedules are not available until the season starts, but practices begin the week of November 30th with two practices/week. Games start the first week in January. Ages 5-8 will have practices/games starting at 6:15 or 7:15 m-f, 8:30am-3pm Sat, and 1-5pm Sundays if needed. Ages 9-16 will have practices/games starting at 6:15, 7:15, or 8:15 m-f, 8:30am-6pm Sat, and 1-5pm Sundays if needed. Younger age groups receive priority for the earlier weekday times.

How many games are there? It is a 12 game regular season with a single elimination tournament.
